Swan Lifeline is the oldest registered charity devoted entirely to the care of sick and injured swans and cygnets in the Thames Valley and surrounding area.Initially we worked from private homes, as we sought a suitable centre. In 1992 Eton College offered us the lease of Cuckoo Weir Island free of charge. The following year, after building a treatment centre and outside pens, Swan Lifeline moved in.Our work is possible only through generous donations and other support from the general public, our sponsors, trustees and volunteers.

"Beautiful setting, calm and peaceful. Swans and waterfowl are well looked after by incredibly caring staff. Volunteers are a big help and feel very rewarded for their time and commitment. Will be volunteering as often as possible to help."

However there are thousands of his majesties swans lounging around on the Thames at Windsor needing protection from our Polish, Romanian and east European friends. Who rather fancy them on a plate with chips and cabbage. So all the best to these brave warriors of swanies salvation, bung them a pound or two."
