"After nearly 30 years of having Mr Meldrew in our family I had to make a very agonising decision of finding him a loving caring home due to my personal circumstances changing where I felt I could no longer give him the companionship, love and care he had enjoyed for all those years. It took about a year of thinking long and hard about this decision and researching to find someone that understood the commitment and care tortoises need. That’s how I came across Charlie and Ryan and Shell-Tur Turtle & Reptile Rescue. From the first time I spoke to Charlie I could tell he completely understood my personal situation and why my choice to rehome Mr Meldrew was in the long run in the best interest for him. When I met Charlie and Ryan I could see the passion for all animals in their care literally ran through the blood in their veins.Each animal in their care are regarded as their family and they literally live and breathe love and compassion for each animal in their care. The work they do is admirable and tireless. Promoting education, protection, rescuing, rehoming and providing a safe haven for all that come through their door.I know Mr Meldrew will be loved and cared for in the same way I did and cannot thank Charlie and Ryan enough for their help and support through a heart wrenching decision for me. As I came away from leaving Mr Meldrew I knew in my heart I had found the perfect people and home for him. I could also see that Meldrew immediately seemed to accept his new family and friends.I hope they achieve their registered charity status and also get help, funding and support from larger organisations to help them fulfill their dream of expanding to larger premises. I also hope through social media they get more financial support from like minded followers as they both really deserve it.Thank you Charlie and Ryan, you really are Angels in disguise xx"

"Due to circumstance changes I haven't been able to give my Crested Gecko the handling, love and care she deserves. I was therefore hesitantly looking to rehome her. My vet recommended Shell-Tur, and as soon as I made contact with Charlie and Ryan I knew I was making the right decision.They are both dedicated reptile lovers, asking all of the right questions to make sure any animal they take in settles well. They welcomed me into their home to meet the other animals and made sure I was happy to entrust them with my Crested Gecko. I know now I have made the right choice and she is going to live the rest of her life with comfort, love and expert care!Thank you Charlie and Ryan for what you do. "Meeting Charlie and Ryan today was an amazing experience. We researched for so long for a place were we could ensure that our turtles would be taken care of and some place that they would receive as much as love as we gave them all these years.After having (what we thought) 2 yellow-bellied sliders for 8 years we finally realized they were both girls (Kate & Janine) and not as we initially were told that they were 1 girl and 1 boy. This discovery was done by Charlie and Ryan, as they are unbelievably knowledgeable when it comes to what they do and have shown amazing passion for all the animals. We loved being able to look around and see how all the other turtles/animals are looked after and they really made us feel welcome and relaxed.All we can say is a massive thank you for being friendly and enthusiastic and ensure that our girls will continue to have a good life. We appreciate that we will be able to keep contact and have updates.Thank you for everything"
