About This Centre
Welcome to Dogs Trust Basildon! We're a happy, friendly team and would love you to come and visit our rehoming centre to see our fantastic facilities and all the waggy tails of dogs looking for new homes. We’re open for general browsing on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 12–4pm. Wednesday and Friday mornings are by pre-arranged appointment only.

"We had a great experience, very friendly staff helped us find the perfect dog to rehome, all dogs here have a full medical before they are allowed to leave and a full report is given to you, so you have the confidence that your new family member is healthy. The team here do a wonderful job finding the right homes for these dog's, they really care. Dobby (Hans) is amazing! Thank you!"

"My best friend, our friend, and I took took our kids to visit the dogs trust. The grounds at the car park were well maintained and a great place to take pictures 📸 The building was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly and always on hand to answer any questions and give advice. We were able to see the dogs in their kennels. Note (there is no handling of the dogs). There was information about each dog and what type of household they are suited to. It was nice to see that some of the dogs had 'FOREVER HOMES'. There were dogs of all sizes and were happy to see people 😊 There is an option to adopt or foster a dog. Which is great. The toilets were nice and clean. No worries there! All in all, we had a great day."

"5 stars for what they do. The environment of walking around seeing the dogs in their cages can feel upsetting, empathy wise, but they're doing all they can to rehome them, and their stats on this sound really impressive.The staff we spoke to were really transparent and informative about fostering processes, and had a good balance of putting the animal wellbeing first but also providing good customer service."

"I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the staff at the Dogs' Trust Basildon Rehoming Centre for everything they do for each and every one of the animals in their care, but especially for matching us up with our beautiful white Border Collie, Neo. What a beautiful doggie. He is simply perfect and is the most placid border collie I have ever met, but also the most energetic. Together we are visiting every country park (and pet shop) in Essex."
