About This Centre
Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home’s course on Dog First Aid prepares you so you can provide emergency first aid in the event of an incident. The course will also show you you how to check over your dog that will help you decide on when a trip to the vet is necessary. These courses are ideal for all dog owners as well as dog trainers and behaviourists, and will provide you with knowledge that will help you keep your dog safe. Our Dog Body Language Course addresses the many common misconceptions about a dog’s body language and behaviour, and how misunderstanding these can lead to difficult or even dangerous situations. This course is for anyone with an interest in dog welfare but especially useful for dog owners or those who work with dogs.

Real Experiences
"I would like to thank Rachel, our very dedicated teacher and recommend the Cat First Aid course at the Dog and Cat Centre. It has been 7 hours of intense training how keep our pets as safe as possible: lots of hands-on experience - though cat models are definitely better behaved than the original."
5 months ago"I highly recommend the Dog Body Language course to anyone passionate about dogs, I learned a lot and I have been applying my knowledge to my observations of every dog everywhere I go! Our course presenter Nicole was super welcoming, was happy to take any questions and took us through the material at a good pace. When you consider the cost of the course goes right into the home it's a win for all. Thank you, Nicole. Thank you, EDCH."
3 months ago"I attended the ITC Emergency First Aid for Dog training a couple of weeks ago and cannot recommend it enough for anyone who has a dog, is thinking of getting a dog or who works with dogs. It was so informative and well organised. I liked that there was only a small group of 8 of us and that the proceeds from the courses go towards the animals care."
5 months ago"I would highly recommend the First Aid for Dogs course. Very knowledgeable and professional presenters. Interactive and fun sessions. Nice small numbers and made to feel comfortable to ask any questions. Learnt so much and feel very confident now to deal with any emergencies with my dog."
6 months ago"Just completed the half day body language course at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. Trainer very experienced and knowledgeable. Very accessible and good pace. Lots of examples in photos and videos. Good to do in person - and to hear others experiences. Has increased my knowledge and confidence - am a pet owner not a trainer. Would definitely recommend."
