Real Experiences
"I write this after the recent death of our lovely Henry (formerly known at EDCH as Top Cat) at the age of around 18, whom we adopted from the shelter in 2012.We were welcomed into the shelter and had the opportunity to meet the cats. One cat caught our eye; he had been in the shelter for four months, with little interest due to a digestive problem which needed specialist 'sensitive' food. He was also a little older than the other cats. He was let out to interact with us and we decided he was the one. I'm not sure whether the shelter still allows people to come in and meet the cats before choosing, but I do hope so.EDCH were great. Henry was neutered, had had his first round of vaccines and was and in good health other than his gut. And as soon as we put him on cereal-free food, his digestive problems disappeared. We are now acquiring a cat from Safe Haven Egypt as we would like to help the street cats abroad, but are so grateful to EDCH for giving us 13 years with our beautiful boy."

3 months ago"Rented a paddock by the prom for my dog- the large paddock. Some great agility equipment in there and plenty of fun. Not great for nervous dogs though as you do need to walk through past all the other dogs in kennels etc on the way past, but good desensitizing training on that if your pooch can handle that!"

Rachael and Nicole, the education officers, are friendly and welcoming and really knowledgeable. Facilities are great too. These courses are worth doing if you're a dog owner or working with dogs. You'll learn a lot. And proceeds go directly to helping the dogs and cats in their care. Fantastic 😊 x"

The ladies, and gents, are so caring and they're totally invested in what's best for the animals first and people's wants come second, as it should be. Can't thank them enough for all their hard work. So friendly and helpful too! If you're considering adopting then I definitely recommend giving them a call!"
