Real Experiences
"An absolute gem of a charity who puts the care of the hounds first. We have adopted beautiful Lenny (Mally) and both Julie and Amanda have been amazing, very knowledgeable and they were patient with us taking him for a few weekends first.I think the key thing is that they try to get their dogs in foster families first which is invaluable in socialising them into the real word and has clearly worked wonders for ours.We wish we could have them all!Lenny would like to share a huge thanks to the team 🐾"

Loves a cuddle. Thank you for all the help from #northern greyhound rescue who foster their rescues before you adopt. We saw her got in touch had a chat about her history then arranged a meet up for following week. They stayed in touch to follow how our rescue was getting on and to help with any follow up questions we had. Thank you Northern rescue again."

We had a couple of phone calls and then a home visit. We received a lot of advice on how to set our home up and the peculiarities of greyhounds. We were able to bring Frankie home after we met him and we were given everything we needed for him from food, treats, toys, coats and a dog bed. There has been continuous contact during the three weeks we have had him. The charity go over and above for the hounds to make sure they are matched well and are in a happy and safe environment. I really cannot praise them enough and we adore Frankie. He is such a loving and sociable dog, great with young children and other dogs and extremely laid back. He's perfect!"

From my initial expression of interest Amanda has carefully guided me through the fostering and adoption process. At all times Amanda and her team have done the utmost to ensure that not only did I find a dog that suited me but they also made sure that the welfare of the dogs they care for was paramount. On the day when I took Fred home I was supplied with everything I could possibly need to ensure that the initial fostering period got off to the best possible start. In addition to the material supplies Amanda is always on hand to give expert advice, support and guidance. There are many greyhounds needing loving forever homes so I would encourage anyone who is considering adoption to get in touch with NGR. You will find no pressure just a dedicated team doing their absolute best for potential adopters and, of course, their best for the dogs that they care so much about."

Also there is daily contact with youself to make sure everything is going well and they are always at hand in the rare event you should have a problem or just a question. An amazing charity I wouldn't go anywhere else."
