Real Experiences
"We rescued Ronnie (formally Kenny) a couple of years ago. What a joy he is! Always happy and full of life. We can't thank AFOT enough for letting him come and live his best life with us. AFOT were so easy to deal with and the process of getting Ronnie here was so smooth. Not only is Ronnie our amazing dog but he now models as a sideline - the poser loves the camera!! Ronnie also joins in with as many AFOT fund raising events that he can and he loves the annual dog show.We then fostered a lovely dog, Havana, who needed a home while she found her forever home. And then last year we were so pleased that AFOT allowed us to have Fergie (formally Julia) join our family. She is so cute and a bundle of fun. Her and Ronnie play together endlessly - they are best buddies!. Again AFOT made the adoption process so easy and they were a pleasure to deal with.So that's 2 AFOT rescues and a daft Doberman in our house - hmm is that enough.......? Not quite 🫣"

Even though we had to wait a little longer to welcome her into our home due to pandemic travel restrictions, the whole process was seemless. We were kept updated all the way. When we experienced an issue with her behaviour, we were given all the help and guidance we needed. Happy to report that our dizzy has been living her best life with us for the past nearly 6 years"

The adoption process is meticulous and the community which is built after is second to none. They work tirelessly to ensure the dog comes first in any decision. I would recommend using AFOT to add the next addition to your family!"

She had been a street dog before AFOT stepped in to help her. She was dumped by her supposed owner several times and she trekked back every time with her puppies in tow. Over 5km. Such a loyal girl. We own a boxer boy Reggie, who is not good with entire male dogs. AFOT’s matching process is thorough, considerate, honest and ensures the best match possible. Mara and Reggie are the best of friends. They adore each other and are a match made in heaven. I honestly know the perfect match is because AFOT care so much about the dogs they rescue, the families who foster or adopt them and their devotion to successful and happy endings. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Xx"
2 years ago"Please read and consider very carefully before using this charity. I have given one star where my experience should be zero stars.Unfortunately although adopting a lovely girl from this charity I had a very bad experience with the chair person because I dared to complain about a lump I was not informed about amongst other things, prior to adoption.. She has now been diagnosed with Cancer .I tried to contact the charity but was told by the chair person that they would not be replying to me or any e mails At the time she had also been diagnosed with Cardio myopathy and I was concerned because had been told at my interview by Gail that in order to adopt her I had to feed her grain free. It was also in the contract. It appears that a grain free diet can be the cause of cardiomyopathy although opinion is split 50/50. Also As it could have been genetic i thought they should know as Pollys puppy had also been adopted. Unfortunately due to the traumatic experience and the treatment I received I would not recommend this charity.I cannot endorse this charity although Keith n Yvonne who ran the sanctuary in Turkiye were lovely people and it was great meeting them and seeing round the sanctuary They worked so hard and what they did for those dogs was marvellous.I have just seen the charitys reply and this is simply not true Polly had a large lump which was not disclosed. Carole was outraged because I complained She actially threatened me. I was charged more than I should have been for Polly and their were loads of issues including the fact that it took months for the chip to be put in my name hence the large number of e mails etc which she calls harrasment etc The contract said 14 days. Its amazing how she twists these things to make it my fault. Unbelievable. I will now be complaining to the charitys commission about this charity and carole holbrook. At the end of the day I love Polly and I will continue to give her love and care for as long as she is with us. Unfortunately it is terminal and we likely have only another few months together before I have to let her go over the rainbow bridge.Sadly and with a broken heart I have to state that Poor Polly has now passed over the Rainbow bridge. She was my life and I must find a way to go on without her. RIP little one my sweet girl and run free, now out of pain, with Lucky, Max and Trixie."
