How to adopt a rescue pet in East Lothian
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application form, meet the animal (often more than once) and have a home check before adoption. Many centres work by appointment, so check opening hours before you visit. An adoption fee usually covers vaccinations, microchipping and neutering where appropriate. Be ready to tell the rescue about your home, garden, working hours and any other pets or children, so they can match you with the right animal.
