"It’s such a lovely place. Never had a dog and got one. The lecture on Saturday was so useful and helped me to understand Paddy, ie he waited for me to go into the house… I recommend the lecture. The transition for him has not been stressful at all. I don’t think the Mayflower Sanctuary can do more. Thank you so much Monika"

"I went yesterday for the first time to volunteer. The Health & Safety was very informative & useful. Staff were superb, very friendly & could tell they really cared about all the dogs. Hope to volunteer in The Cattery next time, sure will be just as impressed."

"I recently took two French bulldogs ( Fendi &Gigi ) to be re-homed the agreement as for them to be re-homed together as separating them would be distressing for them both and my self. Upon checking on them I was told they have been separated and one was adopted before an other , instantly I knew that I had been lied to and mislead as the excuse was that they were fighting . Never in the 4 years of being together have they ever had a fight they adored one and other !I called the shelter yesterday , anxious to check on Fendi, but my heart just dropped when I found out he had undergone a leg amputation. This news is devastating, especially since Fendi is turning 7 this year and has lived most of his life—6.5 years—happy and healthy. He broke his leg at just four months old, but after surgery and extensive hydrotherapy, he returned to being the active dog I’ve always known, with only a slight limp. He has been monitored by vets yearly, so to hear he’s faced such a drastic change in the shelter raises so many questions. I can’t help but feel there’s more to this story—something they aren’t revealing to me. For Fendi’s sake, I have to uncover the truth about what happened during his time there.I will constantly be living in regret regarding this horrific situations I will never no the full story this organisation is not what they say they are I have been lied to from the get go if only I could turn back the clock I was under allot of stress with two children under 3 and two dogs on my own. I thought this was best for them now I deeply regret my decision and am distraught knowing my poor Fendi has been mutilated by this organisation this has l distressed me beyond belief."
