"One of the best rescues I have used. Saw a gorgeous pup, registered & also sent email to centre giving background on dogs, home & local area. I got a call next day to ask some more questions, very thorough. Invited to visit pup next day. Took along my dog & spent over an hour with a lovely lady seeing how the meet & greet went. All great & bought pup home. Efficiency with paperwork, food, collar & tag etc was 10/10. Huge folder of helpful info & was just a very enjoyable experience. Fee was very good up to some other I have used."

"we as a family are appalled by the treatment and the decisions made by Battersea dogs and cats home. We rehomed our dog here as by social media and how it is perceived online that it is one of the best places to take your dog to be rehomed. wernt we far from wrong about that! we took our beautiful dog gizmo To be re homed, we as a family explained how much of a hard decision it was to re home him but we are such animal lovers we knew he needed to placed with a different family more suited to him at that time. We had gizmo for 5 years and loved him like he was our own so giving him up was the hardest decision but from what was “told” to us by battersea we as a family believed he was going to be homed and taken care of. we dropped gizmo off and we explained procedures and knew we wasn’t able to reclaim but was told Euthanasia would only happen If the dog was against the law so an XL bully Or didn’t meet their behavioural criteria to be rehomed, the vet that spoke to Me said the words it is highly unlikely that Dogs Get euthanised when going through the rehoming process. I stated to still keep communication with my mum as she just wanted to know how gizmo was doing with his time there, My mum had received a couple of emails nothing stating that they had any concerns. Just that he wasn’t really settling into the kennels, which is 100% understandable when he had free reign of of our house. us as family would always check to see if gizmo had been put on the rehoming list But we never saw him, so we started to get a bit worried. My mum continued to email and devastatingly we received an gizmo had been euthanised. as a family, we are truly heartbroken as we believed we had sent gizmo to be rehomed but he was Euthanised. And the reason stated that he was euthanised Were unacceptable they stated that he kept throwing up his food Which is completely unusual for him because With the five years of living with us, he did not once throw his food unless he was unwell And due to him being a frenchie We knew all the health concerns which most French bulldogs have But he was happy and healthy as he was always taken to the vet regularly. When being taken into a meeting and being told that is very unlikely that anything would happen to your dog and you get an email being told He was euthanised because he was being sick just completely doesn’t warrant. we believe as a family that gizmo became too difficult for them and they just chose to pick the easy way out. as a family could’ve got 100% helped them told them what food to use to make sure that he was okay Or even just to keep him alive, we would’ve taken him back. He did not deserve to be put down at all. he was still young and still happy no Dog deserve to go somewhere to be rehomed and euthanised because they are throwing up. There are so many ways in which this would’ve been prevented I truly believe battersea Did not look at all options Keep gizmo alive. Therefore as a family we will live with the guilt of sending him here !!! we Are extremely unhappy with the way battersea have also dealt with us in regards to it We were also unable to even collect his ashes and bring him home as he was sent to cambridge to be buried. We are fully aware of passing over ownership and we did that in CONFIDENCE OF YOUR CARE. We now have lost a beautiful dog when he could’ve lived a life a lot longer then what YOU gave him. I do not recommend their services at all and as a company you have completely shattered our family."

"My family rescued a dog from Battersea when I was a child, and now I have returned as an adult to rescue a dog of my own with my partner. I can't recommend Battersea enough. The application process is detailed and thorough, but it has to be for the welfare of the animals. The rehoming team have been amazing - they didn't rush us in any of our conversations and were reassuring throughout, and no questions were too much and they always answered in great detail. We were matched with a beautiful french bulldog, and he is perfect for us. When our dog was reserved for us, Battersea continued to send regular updates and photos via email, and the vets called us anytime changes occurred. I can't express enough how great Battersea has been. We felt comfortable and excited throughout, and our dog's foster mum - who works at Battersea - has been enjoying our regular updates. The rehoming team have checked in to see how our lovely boy is doing - the team at Battersea really do care, and the animal's welfare is the number one priority for them. Rescue is best!"
