"Yesterday was my last day at @halfpenny_sanctuary. Learned how to muck the stables (mainly cleaned the stables for goats, disabled sheep and donkeys) and clean fields of Ragworts. Total respect for the owners -Louise and Mike to choose such a difficult path...the amount of work which has to be done daily is insane. My favourite animal is Rubic- a goat with zinc deficiency, who initially lost his hair, but the condition left him with a locked knee. So he has a small buggy - to wheel him from the stables to the field. I'm glad there's a great team of volunteers like Katie, her mum Val and her brother Danny - who's been coming twice a week for the past 6 years"
