Real Experiences
"We found an injured hedgehog out in daylight in the front garden nibbling bits under the bird feeders and could see a rear leg injury. We rang Lisa for advice and an hour later had taken the poor thing to the sanctuary. Lisa and various volunteers were busy caring for over a hundred animals but welcomed us in and immediately took care of our patient. The staff at Thorne Hedgehog Rescue do a phenomenal job and I can’t praise them enough. Open 24hrs to help suffering 🦔 giving them care, meds, food and safety the team to an awesome job. We named our 🦔Dasher and are so grateful this charity exists to help in our hour of need!"
4 months ago"I am amazed at the care and love Lisa gives the rescued hedgehogs. We took two at different times. The first one was very ill and after a couple of months Lisa called us to say the hedgehog is well and we can collect her after she had her injections and chipped. We did, brought her home and released her in our garden. This year we have two visiting us every night to be fed with kitten pellets and like to believe she is one of them. Last Sunday morning a small one came out and was eating the food. We noticed he had ticks on him so we picked him up and took him straight to Lisa at the Rescue house. We were told he is underweight and not very well. We are now waiting for him to get better and put weigh to bring him back to join the other two. Please donate whatever you can to help with the good work Lisa is doing. Thanks."

They do such good work, please donate if you can, it would be very much appreciated and will help them to continue to do their essential rescue work. Lisa let us be a release site for some of the recovered hogs and the photo shows my daughter Tilly putting a fully recovered and chipped hedgehog into a carrier to be released to join our other hedgehogs in the garden."
