"It's a shame that some of the reviews are because they weren't successful in adopting a dog. I think that's unfair to the reputation of the rescue and would urge people to think about what they write.Knowing Holbrook I know the adoption process is rigorous, ensuring the dogs are matched well to the family. Often, in other rescues, dogs are too quickly handed over to families which results in a mismatch and the dog returning. Imagine the stress on the dog, not only being handover once but returned. If you are unsuccessful there is a reason, maybe there was just a better suited home. Don't give up trying, or write a negative review, the perfect dog will come up. The dogs best interest is at the heart of each decision, and surely that's a positive?Holbrook are dedicated, loving and dog-centred. The site itself is rare, dogs in rescues are often in kennels. But not here, they live free and happily while they wait for their perfect home.Knowing Laura, I cannot speak more highly of her. Her love for the animals, all animals, her dedication daily tending to needs, her knowledge, empathy and understanding to others is incredible.Holbrook have saved countless dogs, and other animals. Each volunteer has such an integral part. Thank you for all you do for the animals, I am so happy to not only have Holbrook in my area but to be proudly part of Holbrook."

"Was looking to adopt a dog as I had recently lost my Bichon. I applied for a couple of dogs that fitted their criteria for rehoming. Unfortunately I didn't make the short list . Most of them need a companion dog or can't live with cats, which it makes it hard to find a suitable home. Also my age is against me as if you are 70 or over they aren't too keen. I got a 10 month puppy in the end which gets on fine with our elderly Labrador from a selling website"

"In many years of rescuing dogs I have Never known so much CARE AND ATTENTION being Given to ALL concerned. Whilst I hope I will not need to look again for a Long time, HOLEBROOK will be my FIRST port of call. I was Truly impressed by the devotion of Everyone I came in contact with. The Thorough research made to ensure we were the Right match."

"They clearly love the rescue dogs and want to do the best for them, if you can help with a small donation, it will be used to help rehome dogs that are looking for a loving family. ❤️"

"A wonderful, compassionate and responsible rescue service. Everyone we met whilst going through our adoption from volunteer walkers to the owner was knowledgeable, caring and helpful. Yes they have high standards for rehoming and are thorough in their checks and processes. I view this as a positive as a conscientious rescue will make sure a dog goes to the right home, not just be ‘grateful’ for any applications and immediately release an animal to anyone. We would definitely adopt through Holbrook again and will recommend them to others in a position to adopt :)"
