"I canāt thank Jasmine and the wonderful team at SAR enough for changing the fate of Sully, our gorgeous 2 year old cross breed. If she hadnāt of rescued him from the pound he wouldnāt be here today. We made the move to Suffolk and adopted Sully the same weekend. He has settled in so well and has filled a huge hole in our hearts after losing our labradors last year. So many dogs need forever homes and thanks to wonderful charities like SAR they get that second chance. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we are eternally grateful š"
6 months ago"A wonderful rescue centre. Jayne and her volunteers are dedicated, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Their response time when I needed help trapping a feral cat that was injured was immediate. Five stars well deserved."
2 years ago"This is a great animal charity. Jayne and her volunteers care deeply about the welfare of the animals in their care and excellent advice is given. Katie, the rabbit lady, treats the bunnies in her care as if they are her own and makes sure they are well matched to prospective owners. Our rabbits came fully vaccinated and neutered and we got some really good care advice. When the time comes, I will certainly go back to this charity and choose rescue again."
3 years ago"We adopted a cat from Jayne, right from the beginning of the process she was very helpful guiding us. When we went to visit, it was clear that Jayne and the staff care deeply for all the animals. We have had our cat for over a month now and she is settling in very well. We couldn't be any happier with the overall experience."
3 years ago"First of all, let me start by saying I have no problem with the charity and the work they do. However, they have handled the post-adoption issues of our dog in a horrendous manner. We were told our dog was a mix of two breeds, and when we found out this wasnāt the case, and that his actual mix of breeds basically made him uninsurable - we contacted Suffolk Animal Rescue to ask for help finding an insurance that would cover him. However, they seemed insistent on us, not declaring his actual breeds, stating repeatedly the vets wonāt DNA test him⦠and effectively suggesting committing insurance fraud. When I stated Iām not comfortable with this and point blank refused to do it, they just kept repeating themselves and doubling down on the same ignorant information they had already sent, without bothering to read or process any of the information I was sending⦠my partner and I now need to seek legal advice about how to proceed because if we had followed Suffolk Animal Rescues advice and got him insured under false information, when he needed veterinary treatment for a disease that isnāt seen in the breeds he supposedly was, how are we supposed to answer that to the vets or the insurance companies? How would we even get a pet insurance to pay out a claim? I tried to discuss this with Suffolk Animal Rescue at length and the level of ignorance I received back has left me feeling so overwhelmed and heartbroken. I feel Suffolk Animal Rescue deliberately deceived us about his breed because they knew the implications that would follow knowing what he actually is, and when we tried to get help and support to make sure that he is properly covered by insurance and isnāt at risk of any legal implications, I felt all they did was try to confuse and gaslight me into thinking this isnāt the situation and I donāt need to be worried about it. They even suggested not insuring him and putting money aside each month, but I am unclear as to how that will help if he was to do something like accidentally break his leg next month⦠given that he is a puppy with very long legs, things like this are a real concern. Not that this is any different from having an inadequate level of coverage! But the fact is if he hurts himself now and we canāt afford to pay the vet bill, weāll have to surrender him to the RSPCA. This would be a very traumatising experience for both our dog and us too⦠and all we wanted was reassurance that this will never be a situation we have to face. Sadly, the people at Suffolk Animal Rescue only worsened this situation with their ill-advice and intentional misleading.I donāt want to deter anybody from adopting animals or rescuing animals but please make sure that you do your due diligence when using Suffolk Animal Rescue, and be sure not to expect any helpful post-adoptive support. Sadly we are now in a position where we need to seek legal advice about how to proceed because of everything thatās unfolded and the impact itās having on us as a family is awful and we feel that weāve been forced into this position.I feel itās also worth mentioning that despite paying the full adoption fees for a puppy, we also still had to pay out for the rest of his vaccinations, as he had only received half his vaccinations and was one day away from needing the entire course of vaccinations restarted.. which would of been helpful to know ahead of time."
