Real Experiences
"Great place! The feral cats adore this sanctuary, roaming everywhere, plenty of shelter for them and all clearly loved by staff! The adoptable cats/houses are well kept and there are strong criteria to adopt for a reason!! (to ensure cat's safety once they leave romney) - added some pictures of the semi-feral cats and they look so healthy"

Denied my Mother, who is very experienced in raising kittens to adult cats, a kitten due to her age (late 60s) and because she uses a walking stick when outside of the home. The owner stated that kittens are not suitable for a woman of my Mother's age and that she should look into getting a young adult cat instead. This was sent over a WhatsApp message. My Mothet had chosen a kitten, completed the forms and taken a video of her home and came away from the rescue centre thinking she would soon be getting a kitten. My Mother is fully capable of raising a kitten in a loving, warm and safe home. The rescue centre owner has no right to discriminate my Mother based on her age and mobility (all she does is walk with a stick when outside). I have emailed a complaint to the rescue centre with no response yet. My Mother has been left very upset and hurt by all of this. What a shame that a kitten has missed out on a loving home and family because of this owners discrimination. Go elsewhere"

The adoption process was simple and very quick. It was obvious that the staff at the rescue centre were doing an amazing job in caring for the cats. They looked so happy, well fed and content. However, despite being loved and cared for, there are a few cats that desperately need a loving home, because that is what they have got accustomed to. I decided to adopt such a cat.I asked for the loneliest or oldest cat they had and Teresa, a lovely lady introduced me to Millie (formerly known as Gill), a very timid cat. The connection was instant and I knew I had to adopt her and was glad I could take her back with me the same day. Millie is so happy now and is coming out of her shell. All she needed was a bit of time and space. I am so glad I adopted her. I have another cat and I’m hoping they will become good friends soon. Thank you Teresa and all the lovely staff at the rescue centre for the fabulous job that you are doing! Xxx"

"17?? Have you taken her to the vets? How could you want to get rid of a 17 year old? Nobody will want to Rehome her. It's like she's got old and just throwing her away! Your anger and anxiety is making her more stressed . Who do you think would take on a 17 year old cat? You need to see if she had a urine infection. Have blood test. Hope you don't ever do that to your parents. Just throw them out when they are old . It's disgusting" It's like she only wants kittens to rehome because they go quickly. It is also clear from other reviews that her and her group of volunteers know barely anything about cats, and how to responsibly look after them, how this business has stayed open for so long, they should have been reported and shut down years ago."

We are delighted to have him home after all this time and he is very happy to be here as you can see from the pictures. He has even made friends with our new kitten Captain, and seems completely settled. The vet has checked him over and he is really well, he had actually put on weight since he has been away, clearly his hunting skills served him well. He did have a bone about 2.5cm long stuck between his teeth and now that has been removed he is purring happily and eating everything. Thank you so much for taking him in, scanning him and calling us! We are so happy to have him home. Thank you so much for looking after him so well and very, very many thanks too to the kind soul who cared enough to take him to you!Very best wishes"
